I'm Back!

Thu Feb 12, 2009, 8:50 PM
Just realised that aside from the Tag Post, I haven't updated anything and my last journal entry was dated back to October last year... That's about 3 months ago or so! And for all I know the next entry will be in the next three month as well.

I've started working back in December under HSE (Health, safety and environment) Department for a local contract company-SKS (Sistem Kejuruteraan Sistematic, or directly translated as Systematic Engeneering Company). Although I'm only posted there as a student attachment (under own request, not school), but I learnt a lot, which was good.

Initially, I was based in office but now I'm both based in office and engages in site operations too. But this task was only handed to me this month and I've only started doing my part beginning of this week. It sounds quite simple- teaching people how to write proper Pakat forms-which is where they record any unsafe conditions they saw and the discussion they made with the site supervisor or the person committing the hazard himself. But the tough part was trying to communicate with them. And the fact that they simply write things down without any prior discussions. Plus, they hardly speak any English and I had to get a translator to help me out! Not that I can't speak my own language, but I cannot present well in Malay. It's fine if I talk to another person in a casual conversation, but trying to explain things in details... Nope, sorry, no can do.

But at least that one is over at least for that one site/workshop crews. So all I need to do now is monitor their progress closely.

That's all about work I guess. I hardly do anything on normal, non-hectic days. Not that I don't do my work, just that they're all done and I have too much free time on my hands. So I installed a game package on my office computer and they keep me company. Especially one game-Granny in Paradise-which is both silly and cute and fun. It's a game of rescuing lost kitties and bringing them to their home, but along the way granny and kitties has to stay away from Tiki Man and a stray dog. :D

In other news....
There will be the first ever Kendo Tournament held in Brunei in this coming April and I'm one of the three that got selected to represent the club. I'm both honoured and very very very nervous. My stamina dropped so much ever since I stopped jogging, so I guess I have to start doing that again. Soon enough. And, I finally got my white gi and hakama! Both gi and hakama are white! And before that I only have my indigo/navy blue set. So now I can wear them white/white, white/blue, or blue/blue. Can't wait for this Sunday to wear white/white! Wonder if I'll look pure and innocent in them *giggles*.

Also, my A-Levels result was released a few weeks ago. I did not do that well. I only obtained 1 A-Level, 2 As-level and 1 U. But it's fine, because I got grade "a" for my General Paper, which most people got a 'd' in! So it's not too sad! (^.^)
Next step for me will depend on when I will finish my job and whether or not my parents are going to send me out. I'm not planning to resit for my A-levels as the College I'm thinking of applying can accept admission with O-Levels qualification.

What else, what else...
As posted in Shadow's journal, we're no longer in a relationship, but we ended it in good terms. So we're still friends and still talk about things like we used to, though we only chat once in a while. Mainly due to work.

But I'm curruently happy with "Mr. Martian", though we had a rocky start. Lots of disapproval especially from his peers (or rather, just one peer) and a whole entangled mess that got my friend involved when it didn't even concern her. It was due to the "disapproving peer" thinking that she is me/I am her, or something along that line. Basically, they mixed up the people :S

Though after a while the disapproving person began to be fine with us and I finally met her the other day, by coincidence, and we had quite a pleasant conversation.

Well at least things are sorted out now. :)
